The packaged version of FreeTDS on 10.04 is 0.82 which is too recent for the Asterisk 1.4. cdr_tds module. The latest version of FreeTDS supported by Asterisk 1.4 is 0.64. So you will have to compile from source (or find an ancient package) to get this working.
