Better read this before recommending using RJ-45 jacks with RJ-11 line cords. The jacks gets damaged. Manufactures will not warranty them!!!

The point is that you should buy the right jacks for the application. Just remember that VIOP is only about 100k of bandwidth per call to a phone. If you are connecting a pc to that phone phone thats different.
