I don't know anything about ABE, but my understanding is that you have
paid for commercial support from Digium?

You don't say what's on the other end, but various vendor and software
support for T.38 is fickle. For example, if you're trying to talk to a
Cisco device that talks T.38, look for the release notes and you'll
see a lot of caveats about situations in which T.38 is known to be
broken. And if you look at T.38 in the 1.6.x series of normal
asterisk, you'll see that there are new patches going in to improve
T.38 specifically, and SIP specifically.

That said, I don't know anything about ABE. If there is a newer
version, I recommend first upgrading to the latest version and see if
your problem has already been fixed.
