I think you're being a bit overly optimistic, but who knows. What we have been trying to achieve with Polycom was:
- to be an approved platform for their VOIP phones - to receive all technical documents and software files for these phones - to have Polycom direct customers calling them about using their phones with Asterisk to go to a Asterisk-Polycom website for resources to set up their phones - to have a technical contact that we can bring up issues, ask about advanced features and communicate bugs to - to be in on the primary testing phases of new Polycom VOIP equipment and software - to have at least one authorized Asterisk-friendly Polycom reseller They have been very interested in working with us and who knows, in the future we may be able to have an AIX2 firmware load for one of their phones if the demand is there. They have made phones with SIP, MGCP, H323 and Skinny protocols so they may be open to AIX2. Or am I being overly optimistic?
