in the CLI you can issue the command >zap show status
e.g.: pbxserver-doral*CLI> zap show status Description Alarms IRQ bpviol CRC4 Wildcard X101P Board 1 RED 0 0 0 In this case the phone line is unplugged and the hardware is just a cheap winmodem with the resistor removed. If the phone line were plugged in there would not be a red alarm. Certainly any digital line will provide the same sort of status notifications.
