In general even different providers should have the 'same' timing. Each telco should be able to trace their timing back to a stratum 1 clock (very accurate clock). Two stratum 1 clocks will look like they are timed together even if they aren't. If the telcos can trace their timing back to a stratum one clock, you won't have any timing problems with them.

Ps. When I first started work at the local telco in the late 80s, we derived our timing from one long distance carrier and used this same timing for all carriers and customers.
