I have used it. The biggest difficulty of the footprint is that the chip doesn't do IO-APIC-edge interrupt handling in linux so you end up having a real difficult time if you try to add additional devices (eg - zaptel cards, more nic cards, etc) and don't want to end up sharing interrupts with all of the on board stuff they've usually got jammed onto the boards already.
