Sounds rather interesting! But, aren't there some legal issues around doing this kind of thing? I remember a few months ago going over this, but it looked like it could be a problem if a company tried to really use it (say, by competing with SkypeOut service to terminate to the PSTN).
I'd sure be interested in it though. Although the CPU hit would probably not be that nice, it'll be cool to have encrypted calls... -Michael -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Fernando Romo Sent: Monday, October 18, 2004 9:23 AM To: Asterisk Developers Mailing List Subject: [Asterisk-Dev] A crazy idea... Skype channel in Asterisk Dear Developers: I found skype and take a few moments to think in create a channel capable to talk the skype protocol. The purpose of this is crate a point if contact with the millions of skype users. For example, if we create a skype username called "mycompany" (for example) and when any skype user call to "mycompany", asterisk take control of the call, atend the call in a IVR and send to Voicemail if the user are unavailable. It sounds crazy, but i star to reseach how skype works and how to create a control channel for this. Any ideas are welcome. Best regards..........
