Within two minutes after MySQL is up again, each worker should reconnect
to the DB. Have a look in to the maillog.txt for this point in time.
mysql_auto_reconnect=1 will not help in this case. This parameter is used
by the driver, if the connection drops within a query. Or drops within two
queries. If the driver reports that the connection is down (
mysql_auto_reconnect=1 failed), assp switches to flat files and will try
to reconnect every two minutes.
Leaves me the question, who would bring down a production database engine
(controlled) without stopping the application server first?

Use a MySQL cluster.

Hello,
in our ASSP Installation we have the following problem:
After a restart of MYSQL the ASSP doesn`t reconnect the Databases
automatically. After the restart of the ASSP, the connection to the MYSQL
is up again.
Please Note: the MYSQL Server isn`t installed on the same host like the
ASSP.
Which switch must be set in the ASSP config to reconnect the Database
automatically after loss of the connection? Or is there another solution
to solve the problem?
In the ASSP we set the database driver name to following phrase:
mysql,PORT=3306,mysql_auto_reconnect=1
ASSP-Version in use: ASSP version 2.5.5(16366)
MYSQL Version: 14.14 Distrib 5.5.53, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using
readline 6.3
