We dinosaurs were a bit lucky, as IBM not only provided decent
documentation, but also the source. That made it a bit easier to
discover how to use, and not to use, some of the instructions
(my infamous example being the source for IEFSD095, the job
separator, which introduced me to BXH R5,R5, but also served as
a warning, as the author failed to take advantage of character
oriented instructions to manipulate character data). It also
helps when you employer accepts a certain proportion of
"non-productive", i.e. educational use. And I consider
www.cbttape.org an invaluable source for brushing up on skills.
