Hi Jackie,

I think that's the recommended way. If you are upgrading but sharing the same
storage - either because the two server installations are on the same machine,
or because the storage is on a NAS - then you can short-cut as follows. (This
is assuming that you're storing content on the filesystem, as is recommended.

1. Export without content from the old server

2. Configure content storage for the new server to point to the same
content location.

3. Import (metadata without content, from step 1) on the new one. The new
server should automatically find all the same content in the same place.

I'd make complete backup first anyway, though!

Subject: [Artifactory-users] Question about Artifactory migration

Dear list

Originally, we were running Artifactory OSS (3.x) with the default derby
database.

We want to migrate to Artifactory Pro (4.8.x) with MySQL for the DB storage.

The way for this is we don't want to do the upgrade, but setup a new Pro server.

What will be the recommended way to do the migration?

For now, I can only think of exporting all local repos in the OSS(3.x) server,
and then importing to the Pro(4.x) server.

Thanks
Best Regards
