It should be no problem.  They are a separate record.  That should alleviate
enough risk that you should try it - at least on a dev environment.  Of
course, you may run into issues with GUI elements (table field not chunked
etc) but that risk seems to be getting lower over the releases.  I've done
lots but I would guess no more than 100.  I just sometimes see them as they
zoom by -  you know 92 of 97, 93 of 97, etc. J
