Hi,

I'm going through exactly the same thing at the moment. But I'm using
ARS 7.6.03 and ITSM 7.6.03. 3 servers in a server group.

You can turn on API/SQL/Filter, Server group, ARSignald, Thread logs
with Copy-Cache-Logging: T in ar.conf. That is to see if you're able to
view anything with the log files. In our case, we got little info
there. But all we found is that the server group did not agree with the
ranking of operations configured in AR System Server Group Operation
Ranking form.

You can follow BMC's recommendation on ranking Operations within a
server group. (Admin Guide .pdf) There is also a white paper on
Installing and Configuring Server groups.pdf. This helped resolve the
crash problem on one of our environments.

Admin, Approval, CMDB, BRE should be ranked 1 on one of the servers in
the server group. Should be ranked 2 on the second server in the server
group. And so on for the other servers in the server group. It is also
advisable to rank Admin server with 1 for other operations like AIE,
Recon, FTS, DSO. Escalation and Archive should be ranked 1 on one of the
non-admin servers.

If your servers are up for 9 min as you found on armonitor.log, that
should be enough time to quickly do this before it goes down. Then
restart all 3 servers - Admin first.

OR

Stop all 3 servers. Remove one of them (admin server) from server group.
Start service. Ensure it stays up for 10 min at least. Ensure the
ranking operations is correct. Then stop it. Add back to server group.
Start back. If it stays up, you can bring back the other servers one
after the other.

Thanks

Radhika

Subject: Critical: 7.6.04 AR Servers in server group keep crashing

**

All,

I have a ticket open with BMC but basically, my ar servers keep
crashing. All I can see in the ARmonitor log is either this line:

Tue Jul 12 07:54:54 2011 ARMonitor child process (pid:4332) died
with 3221226356.

"d:\program files\bmc software\arsystem\arserver.exe"

OR

Tue Jul 12 07:43:34 2011 ARMonitor child process (pid:1172) died
with 3221225477.

"d:\program files\bmc software\arsystem\arserver.exe"

Any ideas? Arerror just shows the server restarting.
