Okay I finally figured it out.

A support group is not a "change" type group. It seems that for the role 
permission to apply the group assigned to this role must be a "Change" type 
group.
I created a computed "change" type group, added this support group to the 
computed group and assigned the computed group to the role.

It worked!.
