At some point in the distant past, I used a DOS command line utility to copy
text to the clipboard..  If you google "copy to clipboard", you get all
kinds of javascript solutions/examples.  Maybe you could use one of those,
with a Run Process that calls the javascript?

I'm not exactly sure what your goal is, but based on the most recent message
below, could you create a display only field with your desired
properties/text coloring, and stack it hidden behind the primary text
field?  Then on Gain focus, use a set fields to copy any existing text to
the D.O. field, hide the original, show the D.O., and set focus to it.  Of
course then you'd need a "lose focus" on the D.O. field to put things back
they way they should be.  Flavor to taste from there.
