John,
I'm not familiar with a Unix client for 6.3....but that not withstanding.
In the client under Tools|Options|Behaviors choose 'Display As' as 'Smart
Menus'....or in the form 'AR System User Preferences' on the General tab,
same options....

Back several versions ago you go to choose what a 'smart' menu was, or the
teeter point between popup and list box that you are describing. I imagine
that the options in the ar.ini will still allow you to change them if you
could find the right options....but basically this is where you control the
behavior that you are describing.

Subject: Display menu opening as summary

**
I have a user the uses the client for 6.3 on Unix. When she clicks on a
drop summary* down menu on the CHG:Change form with about 40 items in the
list she gets the list box with all items in one column and a scroll bar.
If she opens the summary* drop down menu on HPD:Helpdesk form also about 40
items she'll get the flat menu box with two columns displaying all items
with no scroll bar. I have changed the setting in the behavior tab from
the user option menu with no luck. I modified the ar.ini in her Home
folder, I renamed ar.ini and had remendy re create it. I have un installed
the client made sure that the old folders were deleted during the un
install. Any one have any thoughts on what else I can try?
