Daniele,

IMHO, the v6.3 Mid-Tier does not (correctly) support CSV output. You
can set the report to output CSV data, but that version of the
Mid-tier produces an HTML table from the CSV data.

If you were using a v7.1 Mid-Tier then my answer would be different.

If the user is using the User Tool then they likely want to set a User
Preference (Tools-->Options-->Advanced(tab) --> Use this program to
preview reports) to pick a program like notepad or some other text
editor instead of the built in, and totally locked down, report
preview tool that the User Tool use to require be used.

However...

If the output is in a browser window (AKA: the report is run from a
user logged into the Mid-Tier) then the user should be able to copy
from the browser window. How that data will "Paste" into another
application... well... there are to many variables for me to be able
to talk about how that may or may not work the way you want it to. You
will have to try it and see if the report definition can be
improved/altered to make it work better.

HTH.
