dear listers,
we have at the moment the Email engine installed on Unix (Sun Solaris 9)
using the MBOX
We plan to move the account attached to the email engine to IMAP
At the moment we use procmail to read the emails and do some data formatting
Our current plan is whenever we will move to IMAP, to use fetchmail on
the IMAP server to send the emails to procmail
I just noticed in the User tool in the email mailbox configuration form,
we can change the server type from MBOX to IMAP
I am wondering whether we should use this option instead of the solution
with fetchmail
We plan to use fetchmail because of formatting incompatibilities between
MBOX and IMAP
I am wondering:
- whether we should better simply change the option available in the
User tool?
- when should be the right time to proceed?
- whether we would need to re-install the email engine from scratch?
- ...
Would anybody have hints helps ideas on this please?
