Wow...that increases my knowledge.

However, I resolved the issue.

The whole process is something like this

we got 2 systems: system X and system Y(Remedy)

1. user has id A on X system and id B on our Remedy System Y.
2. X submits a record on Y using id A.

However, Y does not have a id A on User form record.

As soon as created a new user record with ID B, Set fields started working for
everybody!!

Not sure if its related, but when I was using my ID before creating ID B, Set
fields were working..still I think its a mystery for me as to what was
happening there.

Also, when some other folks were trying Active Link, it worked for them.

So, its kind of an intermittent issue.

Thanks everyone for all help.

Regards,
Chintan

The 112 field allows you to control who has access at the row
level.  So, if your 112 says "PC Support" only people that have the
security group of "PC Support" can see the row.

E.G.
Req ID = 1        112 = PC
Support        Short = "Problem with
Monitor"
Req ID = 2        112 =
Application        Short = "Problem with
Payroll"

If user 1 is a member of PC Support they can see & grab data about
Req ID = 1 but not Req ID = 2.

      Yes, I do have a field 112 on base form and a field of 2
        on base form($USER$).

Would that be an issue? The active link is
        pulling data from other form.

Thanks for quick reply. Let me know
        how they are related.

Regards,
Chintan.

          Do you have a field 112 on the base form and the
          user 2 cannot see the particular record it is trying to
          pull?

                Hi List,

I have got a weird
                  problem.

I have an Active link that fires on
                  OPERATION=SET and it sets the field for some users and it
wont
                  do the same for other users. I checked the permission on
                  Active Link and its set to public.

I also verified all
                  permissions on fields on both the forms, still no
                  luck.

I used the profile of the person for whom Active
                  link sets the field and copied it over to the user's profile
                  for whom the same active link wont do set fields.

Also,
                  turned on Active link logging but all i see
                  is
A="X"
B="Y"
C="Z"
for one user  and for
                  the other user with same profile, i see
A=" "
B="
                  "
C=" ".

Any Ideas? Oh, BTW, cache is already
                  cleared.

Thanks
Chintan.
