Hello Kelly, Thank you for your response. Those unfortunately were the first things I checked for before writing to the list. I did check the eie.cfg file which for me exists in the C:\Apps\AR System Applications\EIE\remedydev1\service\conf directory as I have installed the applications in this non-default path..
I also did check the EIE:ApplicationSettings form before writing to the list and the path there is as it should be and is C:\Apps\AR System Applications\EIE\remedydev1\dataxapp\bin No problems there too Troy, Yes I did hit the Verify button and 'Got Results' a few times over before writing to the list and that has no problems. The connection to the EIE seems to check out. That is what WAS bothering me. Why does that work and the Run functionality fail? Ok I said WAS bothering me because as I read through your mail and you stated not to use the 'Run Now' button to check if the exchange ran, I opened up the form which the EIE was supposed to write to on a schedule that I had chosen. The data was all there! So yes you are right that damn button I wasted 3 hrs over trying to figure out why it wasn't working has something wrong behind its functionality! Anyway I'm happy that at least my scheduling works which is all I need! Thank you for your response.. Kelly, Strauss, Terry, thank you guys for chipping in too.. Joe, 1. Open EIE_Install_Dir\apps\EIE\service\conf\eie.cfg and check the values for the parameter ARServerName, ARLogin and ARPassword. Make sure the values are all correct. 2. Check the path listed in the EIE:ApplicationSettings. If it doesn't match the path where you found the eie.cfg file then workflow can't find the file to update it and the service can't find it to pull the information it needs to run. Generally, I see this happen when you specify a non-default path on install and it doesn't get updated in the EIE:ApplicationSettings record for whatever reason. --------------------- Kelly Deaver [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: EIE: Error while running a test exchange.. > From: Joe D'Souza <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Tue, July 03, 2007 2:49 pm > To: [email protected] > > ARS 7, and EIE 7.0.1 patch 4. > > I get this error while running a data exchange.. > > Set fields active link running a process failed > Unable to retrieve host name and port for EIE Service.
