I had actually leaved it blank first cuz somehow I just dun feel right in editing the file directly with the password. And the part you mentioned 'If you do modify the files directly, you need to signal the owning process to reread the new config values. This is typically done with arsignal for arserver and a kill for emaild.' , what does this signal refer to? By the way I noticed that if there's a password, normally in the .conf or in emaildaemon.properties, the password field will not display the exact password in the file am I right? The password will be in some form of asterisk or encrypted characters. Will reinstallation of AR Email works? Email and flashboards just need to be updated to use the same password as arserver. I am not sure that they use the same alg between the ar.conf and emaildaemon.properties file, but they may. Do keep in mind that there are numerous other places that this password is referenced in addition to the email engine.
