Hi all,
We have a collection that contains a number of item-level Digital Objects
(containing links to records in our repository) that are connected to Archival
Objects, and I recently discovered that somewhere between v1.5 and v2.1.2 that
the functionality of Digital Objects changed somewhat. As a result, these
Digital Objects aren't functioning as they should. We'd like to hide them for a
while until we're able to make some changes to our repository, but those
changes won't take place for several months. In the meantime, we don't want to
confuse researchers who might happen upon these non-functional Digital Objects.
We're using the ArchivesSpace public interface.

If I unpublish a Digital Object that is connected to an Archival Object, the
preview image goes away in the public view (the red badge icon thing), but
there's still a section down below for "Digital Material" that now contains a
broken link (since the actual link is now unpublished!). If I instead suppress
the Digital Object, the opposite happens-now the "Digital Material" section is
gone but the preview image/red badge icon thing is still viewable in the
Archival Object record, and is still functioning normally. I don't want to
delete these Digital Objects since they contain information we want to
keep-it's just the File URI links that are bad. Other than completely
disassociating the Digital Objects from the Archival Objects AND suppressing
the Digital Objects, (or maybe suppressing and unpublishing) I don't see a way
to temporarily remove them from public view. Is there another way to achieve
this that I'm not seeing? Hopefully this description makes sense!

Best,
--Benn
