>>>> subscribe apt-list
**** Your request to majord...@theworld.com:
****
**** subscribe apt-list archive@mail-archive.com (Gmane Admin)
****
**** must be authenticated. To accomplish this, another request must be
**** sent in with an authorization key, which has been sent to:
**** archive@mail-archive.com (Gmane Admin)
****
**** If the message is not received, there is generally a problem with
**** the address. Before reporting this as a problem, please note the
**** following:
****
**** 1. You only need to give an address to the subscribe command if
**** you want to receive the list mail at a different address from
**** where you sent the command. Otherwise you can simply omit it.
****
**** 2. If you do give an address to the subscribe command, it must
**** be a legal address. It should not consist solely of your name.
****
**** This is wrong:
**** subscribe apt-list Mark Twain
****
**** This is right:
**** subscribe apt-list
**** OR
**** subscribe apt-list mtw...@mississipi.com
****
****
**** 3. List names cannot have spaces in them. If you gave the name
**** of the list with a space in it, then majordomo interpreted the
**** bit after the space as the address you wanted to subscribe to the
**** list. For example, the command
****
**** subscribe apt-list digest
****
**** means you are trying to add the address "digest" to the mailing
**** list apt-list. The proper command would be (assuming the list has a
digest):
****
**** subscribe apt-list-digest
****
**** If you have any questions about the policy of the list owner, please
**** contact "apt-list-appro...@theworld.com".
****
**** Thanks!
