I discovered my mistake: I expected the WSDL to appear under the port for Web Applications (Portname: WC_defaulthost - default: 9080). In fact the WSDM management application uses the admin/management port as used by the Integrated Solution Console (Portname: WC_adminhost - default: 9060).
