Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
cygwin-develop...@cygwin.com mailing list.

This is confirmation email signifying that you would like to join the
cygwin-developers mailing list.

                            *** NOTE ***
This is a mailing list intended only for discussion of cygwin DLL
development. It is not intended for discussion of any utilities not found
in the winsup directory. This means that questions about bash, gcc, gdb,
ssh, cron, etc. are not appropriate here. This is also not the list
for announcing a new port of a cygwin program or for providing patches
to anything but the cygwin DLL and the utilities found in winsup/utils or
winsup/cygserver.

This list is also *not* intended for reporting bugs or for the
idly curious who want to listen in on cygwin developers discussions.
Please report bugs at cyg...@cygwin.com. All of the cygwin developers
read this list.

If you are seriously interested in cygwin development and intend to
contribute code, then please read http://cygwin.com/contrib.html and
note that you will have to fill out a legal form which assigns your
changes to Red Hat for your changes to be incorporated into the Cygwin
code base.

If any of the above is unclear to you, please ask for clarification in
the main cygwin list at cyg...@cygwin.com.

If all of the above is news to you and you now realize that you've tried
to subscribe for the wrong reasons, then just ignore this message and
you will not be subscribed.

If you still decide to send a bug report to cygwin-developers or ask
about, e.g., how to set up ssh or cron there, please expect to be taunted.
                          *** END NOTE ***

To confirm that you would like

   archive@mail-archive.com

added to the mailing list, please send an empty reply to this address:

cygwin-developers-sc.1267759475.ffncmcffiaklfnlokbma-archive=mail-archive....@cygwin.com

Usually, this happens when you just hit the "reply" button. If this
does not work, simply copy the address and paste it into the "To:"
field of a new message.

This confirmation serves two purposes. First, it verifies that I am
able to get mail through to you. Second, it protects you in case
someone forges a subscription request in your name.

Some mail programs are broken and cannot handle long addresses. If you
cannot reply to this request, instead send a message to
<cygwin-developers-requ...@cygwin.com> and put the entire
address listed above into the "Subject:" line.

This list is moderated. Once you have sent this confirmation, the
request will be sent to the moderator(s) of this list. I will notify
you when your subscription has been activated.

--- Administrative commands for the cygwin-developers list ---

I can handle administrative requests automatically. Please
DO NOT SEND THEM TO THE LIST ADDRESS! If you do, I will not
see them and other subscribers will be annoyed. Instead, send
your message to the correct command address:

To subscribe to the list, send a message to:
   <cygwin-developers-subscr...@cygwin.com>

To remove your address from the list, send a message to:
   <cygwin-developers-unsubscr...@cygwin.com>

Send mail to the following for info and FAQ for this list:
   <cygwin-developers-i...@cygwin.com>
   <cygwin-developers-...@cygwin.com>

Similar addresses exist for the digest list:
   <cygwin-developers-digest-subscr...@cygwin.com>
   <cygwin-developers-digest-unsubscr...@cygwin.com>

To get messages 123 through 145 (a maximum of 100 per request), mail:
   <cygwin-developers-get.123_...@cygwin.com>

To get an index with subject and author for messages 123-456 , mail:
   <cygwin-developers-index.123_...@cygwin.com>

They are always returned as sets of 100, max 2000 per request,
so you'll actually get 100-499.

To receive all messages with the same subject as message 12345,
send an empty message to:
   <cygwin-developers-thread.12...@cygwin.com>

The messages do not really need to be empty, but I will ignore
their content. Only the ADDRESS you send to is important.

You can start a subscription for an alternate address,
for example "j...@host.domain", just add a hyphen and your
address (with '=' instead of '@') after the command word:
<cygwin-developers-subscribe-john=host.dom...@cygwin.com>

To stop subscription for this address, mail:
<cygwin-developers-unsubscribe-john=host.dom...@cygwin.com>

In both cases, I'll send a confirmation message to that address. When
you receive it, simply reply to it to complete your subscription.

If despite following these instructions, you do not get the
desired results, please contact my owner at
cygwin-developers-ow...@cygwin.com. Please be patient, my owner is a
lot slower than I am ;-)
