would you mind to check chinese locales too? it seems there are same problems here. not me but a member of our forum(linuxsir.com).

the error messages are exactly the same to Scott's but the locale name.

I guess this is a broken locale in the glibc package then. I'll check
later today if ja_JP.UTF8 is supported as non-broken locale.
