A slightly more explicit response if needed. Edit your .xinitrc with your 
favorite editor. If you have been using fluxbox you will see something like 
this....

#exec gnome session
#exec whatever window manager
exec fluxbox
#exec whatever

Put the # infront of fluxbox and take it away from gnome. This should do the 
work. 

But fluxbox should be able to let you switch to gnome from fluxbox. Go to 
Fluxbox menu and look for Window. From there you should be able to switch 
from Fluxbox to Gnome. But you may not be able to switch back from Gnome to 
Fluxbox.
