200G partition:

hda1 32m dos /boot
hda2 150G  / linux everything
hda3 40g laptop backup image
hda4 1g swap or something else

The 32m dos  /boot is all that is needed. Remember
that using a journaled fs takes about 32m for the
journal.

then some day when I get round to it, i will
virtualize  hda1 and all those partitioning questions
are out the window. 

Talking of window, it is too much trouble and a total
waste of time so i dont know anything about it and I
