And here we disagree :-) My impression is that there is no *testing* in HP at all, instead they choose the latest stable version of GHC and a set of packages at versions that fit together, sometimes they are the most recent most often they aren't. Some choices are even outright questionable, like OpenGL. IMNSHO haskell platform only makes sense for systems that lack a proper packaging system, where it makes available a convenient installer. As I understand "the Arch way" it means using the *latest* stable release. A good example of this is the move to python3.
