Did I correctly undestand that without these file transfers you have no issues
with your Wi-Fi connectivity?
Did I miss seeing you mention wpa_supplicant debug command line option?
-d Increase debugging verbosity (-dd even more).
Hopefully, the debug output by itself would help the developers. If the file
transfers are not obvoius from the debug output, and you will be able to
correlate the debug output with these transfers, then that can hopefully
help them.
Note I am not a developer, and I am just writing what looks to me one way to
go. I could be wrong.
