The changelog on Serializable::bsonSerialize makes no mention of a break:

This appears to be an upstream bug. There is no changes mentioned or
suggested https://www.mongodb.com/docs/drivers/php-drivers/ and all
package versions are 100% supported. I've opened a forum request upstream.
There is an issue in php-legacy-mongodb-2.0.0 that does not play nicely
with the driver. I ensured that the driver (and composer) were updated.
The actual driver files installed by composer have not changed since
9/24/24.
