The configuration in the mailman documentation mostly concerns mailman.cfg, whose documentation is at https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mailman#Configuration; settings_local.py and settings.py are for Django. Mailman has an excerpt and links to its documentation at https://docs.mailman3.org/en/latest/django-primer.html#configuration.
