I added a comment to your bug report. I have one computer which doesn't boot under 4.9 - this started with 4.9-RC1 ( i build and test all kernels) and still have same problem with 4.9 final. As I asked in your bug report, can you identify the processor as well. Here is what I am seeing as of now - one Ivy Bridge laptop does not boot.
