I have already been thinking about downgrading the nvidia package to nvidia-295.53-1, which seems to be the last version from the official repository whithout such issues.

I moved to nvidia from the nouveau because I had to disable acceleration on nouveau because of the graphics board in my Macbook Pro. Seemed to be a well known issue.
