Better use some IMAP client with gmail. I suggest Thunderbird or Claws
Mail.
XD now I get it. it's all about the way to answer. sorry to break the
thread... twice XD. I can't use local clients because I use to many PCs. the
web client is the best way for now.

IMAP doesn't delete mails from mail server. You can use IMAP on multiple
machines.
