Hah not really. You should be able to remove optdepends at any time. So
you can always -Qi and remove them before the main package. Otherwise, how
would you install the main package without the optdepends?

It would be handy if pacman printed installed optdepends on package
removal, but that's another bit of feature creep I'm not so sure of.

Though as Dan said, this info is nice for the web.
