I suppose if a nvchecker plugin existed that utilised bs4 (beautiful
soup), that would work. But I assume that would still fit your
definition of "arbitrary script". :p

Good that you bring this up, I'm leaning towards only support the default plugins for now. I think that already is an huge improvement over our current state. We can make an improvement issue and look what we can do about it :)
