Hi all,

A new RFC has been opened here:

Summary:
Make -march=x86_64-v2 the default for our packages. This assumes the
following instruction sets which are essentially available on all but
the oldest AMD CPUs:

CMPXCHG16B, LAHF-SAHF, POPCNT, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, SSSE3

Hi,

Oh no!, bad news for me. I am still running my two machines on AMD Athlon 64 X2. I love Arch, I do not want to leave it :( I am sure that lots of people are on the same position.

I am reply here since I am not a archdev anymore so I do not have access to gitlab.

Why no build with these flags for packages that really takes advantage of this?

Take care.
