Apertium-separable matches phrases and combines them so that the dictionary can treat them as single words. It's called "separable" because these phrases do not have to be contiguous, so it can convert ^take$ ^the$ ^trash$ ^out$ into something more like ^take# out$ ^the$ ^trash$.
