I think the protocol is no protocol :)

I just test the transducer's coverage with aq-covtest <corpus> <transducer> before and after to make sure that I didn't mess up anything.

Also there is `hfst-compare', but note this:

selimcan@patroclus:~/src/apertium-all/apertium-languages/apertium-tat$ hfst-compare tat.automorf.hfst tat.automorf.hfst Error: hfst-compare cannot process transducers that are in optimized lookup format.

There might be a workaround I'm not aware of.
