Hi Amogh, First of all, welcome! :) In the wiki (http://wiki.apertium.org) main page there are some howtos on how to start contributing. Check them out if you haven't already! First thing I would start with is installing some language pair from the source. Look http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Minimal_installation_from_SVN for more assistance (if you have lttoolbox, apertium, etc. downloaded just skip those steps). All the language pairs need help in one thing or another so improving some lang pair would be helpful and a good way to get to known on how apertium is used and what things are in the translation pipeline.
I think there's a ton of things which could be improved (like faster paradigm chopper (http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Paradigm_chopper)). Just as ask people what problems they have and maybe you come with your own inconveniences whilst developing a lang pair – and there you have your topic! You can find many of us hanging out in the IRC channel #apertium @ freenode. -Joonas On 10/2/16, Amogh Mishra <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello Everyone, > > My name is Amogh Mishra and I am a senior undergrad pursuing my bachelor's > degree in Information Science with specialization in Machine Learning. > I am highly interested in contributing here and was looking to start > working for the organization. > I would like to get some help in understanding how, where and on what > topics can I begin to contribute. > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, SlashDot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Apertium-stuff mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/apertium-stuff
