With experience of developing new methods in Machine Learning for
Natural Language Processing, you will contribute to a two-year
research project on Machine Translation for closely related languages,
e.g., Portuguese-Spanish, and selecting an optimal translation path
for such languages. You will use statistical methods to determine
similarities between related languages, to produce bilingual lexicons
and to evaluate resulting MT engines in the area of localisation of
entertainment media.
