I know a bit the project because I exchanged a few mails with the project
leader, Jonathan Pool, when I was searching Turkish and Chuvash lexicons.
Yes, they are getting part of their data from works which almost for sure
are copyrighted. They just list their sources and, if some author or
copyright owner explicitly says that he doesn't want his data to be used,
they use it. That's why I didn't use it for Apertium...
