I actually don't think it should be changed. <echoproperties> is for
dumping properties and you may not want to restrict the prefix specified to
having a "." after it. <property> prefix works like the environment
variant.
Somewhat confusing, yes. But not a show-stopper and probably not worth
changing either task because each has its own reasons for doing it the way
it does.
