I would use `regex_replace` instead -
```
- debug:
msg: '{{ iso_date |regex_replace("(\d{4})\-(\d{2})\-(\d{2})\
(\d{2}):(\d{2}):(\d{2})", "\1_\2_\3_\4_\5_\6.txt") }}'
vars:
iso_date: "2023-07-20 16:36:44"
```
