I've done this in the past, did not need to do so in my current job. Just start using ansible (since it doesn't need an agent its hard to detect unless they specifically look for it in the syslog).
Once everything is working great, don't tell them, next time they ask to modify it using 'the other way' give them the cost estimate, but also the cost of doing it the ansible way (which you already have working).
