Just put it in the configuration file for the backup tool/script. No need
to sprinkle this throughout the playbook IMHO.
It could even use variables to conditionally include things
{% if x in groups['webservers'] %}
...
{% endif %}
{% if x in groups['dbservers'] % }
{% endif %}
etc
