Hi,

Over the past week or so we've received numerous reports of people being
erroneously unsubscribed from various mailing lists, primarily the
[email protected] list, by automated bounce handling.

Upon investigating we found bot traffic hammering our mailing list signup
pages, resulting in many welcome emails being sent to random addresses.
This caused our sending service to begin blocking emails due to what it
perceived as SPAM. The mailing list system saw this as bounces, and
started unsubscribing people.

We have added bot protection to the mailing list signup pages and
re-enabled all erroneously-disabled users. We've been monitoring the
situation for the past few days and all has been well.

You can verify your mailing list subscription at
https://lists.almalinux.org/mailman3/lists/ by clicking on a list name. On
the subsequent page you will see the "Subscription / Unsubscription"
section. In this, "delivery status" of "Enabled" means that you are
subscribed, and not disabled for bounces.

We apologize for the trouble and confusion this may have caused.
