I'm sorry to hear what happened. I'm not sure the issue you are 
experiencing is related to the migration to version 5. I can't really help 
you there.
However, as SEO seems vitally important to your site, I would recommend 
taking a good look at angular universal. By using that, your pages can be 
rendered server-side, taking JS out of the equation for SEO. For SEO 
purposes, your site will just be a dynamic site. 
As an added bonus, the first load will get faster for most customers. 
Adding a PWA into the mix, your returning customers will have an better 
experience too.
