Hi Abe, [(value)] actually works, you don't need to use ngModel if you don't like it. However, ngModel automaticly handles a quite a bit of boilerplate you otherwise need to write yourself. Its explained into detail in the inside [(ngModel)] part of this docs part <https://angular.io/docs/ts/latest/guide/template-syntax.html#!#ngModel>
